The Sewing Rooms

Fashion designer Arlene Ferguson has over 20 years experience in garment alterations and designing, specialising in bridal and formal alterations. In 2021 Arlene launched Sew Informed sewing school, teaching beginners to advanced sewing students.

Arlene approached Design Ink to create two visual identities which belong together, marrying the established Sewing Rooms and the new Sew Informed courses.

Refined and elegant… with a touch of drama. The script font brings personality and is almost like a tread, lending itself to ‘holding’ a needle. The Sewing Rooms logo can be linear or stacked depending on available space and there is a simplified icon for use on social media and in smaller applications.

Arlene devised and developed three Sew Informed courses; Foundations, Alterations and Progressions - there is a course to suit every skill level. These courses are instantly recognisable as each has its own sub-logo with a bright accent colour replacing the gold. Arlene’s courses were brought to life through the design of a full colour, hard back manual for every level.
